Almost every year we hold our village Open Gardens Event. There are usually about 10 gardens open ranging from the large to the very small and from the formal to the downright quirky so there is always a lot to see and ideas for your own garden.
We always hope for good weather and, although we have been unlucky on a couple of occasions, there are still a hardy group of garden lovers who make sure that they see all of the gardens even in the rain.
Since 2001 this event has raised over £50,000 making it our major regular fund-raiser and we thank all of those people who have contributed to this marvellous achievement by either opening their garden, contributing plants for sale, helping on the day or visiting the gardens.

There is usually a plant stall which proves very popular and where it is possible to pick up plants from cuttings and grown by gardeners in the village, which may not be readily available in garden centres, as well as stocking up on more easily availabe plants at good prices. The stall is organised by Margaret Tilstone and now proves a very important part of the day for many of the visitors and has raised almost £10,000 since 2001.
